Headspace Really Helps

I’ve been using Headspace for years, and it really helps. I couldn’t do without it. Because for me, meditation is a lifesaver, that makes things easier, and really helps.

It improves my mental health, in so many ways. It has lots of helpful sessions that I use all the time to soothe my restless mind, start my day, restore focus, find motivation, or calm me down.

It’s super accessible, on the app, and works well with colour inversion. Most of the meditation sessions are audio based anyway, as you listen while you meditate. They recently hired someone new and he has this beautiful baritone voice that is just delightful to listen to.

Over the years, its been by my side. Its helped me through Moorfields and panic attacks, with interview nerves and job worries. It’s been my anchor on bad days, when I have been sinking. And a friend on good days, comforting me. Its helped me view things in new lights and perspectives, mapping out my mind when I was lost.

With it, I can face the world, and each day in some kind of peace. The anxiety never really leaves, hut it fades I’m a lot better, and calmer than I used to be.

Sure, there is an annual subscription. But its helped me out in so many ways, that it’s worth it. I’m glad I found headspace. And I keep using it, for as long as I need.

Of course, there are other apps too. I also use one called Tapping Solutions, which do deeper meditation sessions, with some music, and more of a focus. And that’s okay. Maybe I have used Headspace since 2017. But that doesn’t mean I can’t try other things. Tapping Solutions have been great for reducing joint pain, helping me sleep, and for general anxiety. You can download sessions, to take them anywhere, for wherever and whenever you need. I often use them before or in meetings, to reduce anxiety, and they really help. And again, its really accessible, colour inversion and large font no issue, and the trainer often describes movements.

I would struggle a lot more without getting some headspace. For meditation really helps. With it, I feel more energised and motivated to start my day. I enter meetings feeling calmer, and my words flow much better after a session. I’m less figdety and jittery, and it restores my soul. And it doesn’t always have to be an app.

Sometimes, just sitting by nature helps. I often grab a coffee, warmth seeping through fingers, and sit in nature for a while. Usually a place with lots of trees, and or water features, and also Brighton beach. I can delight in the senses, and have time to myself to just think and be, sometimes with music, and I feel better.

Its all about getting a bit of headspace. clearing the clutter of my mind, and it really helps.
