Meditating with Odin

I’ve tried lots of meditation apps and playlists. I love ambient music, and there’s a couple Marvel themed ones I like listening to when I’m working. This week, I was looking for something a little stronger, to power me through an interview. I knew there were Norse ambient playlists about. There’s this artist called Danheim who do loads of wonderful ambient Norse themed music.

But when I was searching today, I found something new. It was called Meditations with Odin or something, and of course I clicked on it. If a YouTube video has the word Odin in its title, you bet I will watch it.

And by all the gods, it was perfect. It was exactly what I was looking for, what I needed. It had the drums of the ancient world, with the sounds of the waves against the shore, the caws of ravens, and rustling of feathers along with the drums. It filled me with this peace, when I closed my eyes. I imagined being beside those frothing cold seas, and Odin appeared in my vision, sitting next to me, and we talked things through. I felt his power and strength fill my bones, and seep into my soul, leading me into a trance like state, beyond anything I have ever experienced.

When I opened my eyes, I felt like I could do anything, a daughter of Odin ready to take the world by storm. And I did. Thanks, old friend. I will definitely be using that playlist again, was extraordinary.
